Returning to Church

May 12, 2020

Hello Grandview,

I am so excited to announce that we are having services in our church building this Sunday, May 17th. With COVID-19 still active there are some protocols that we must follow to protect ourselves and others around us. For the time being we will only be having AM Worship Services. As time progresses and the virus diminishes, we will be adding our other meeting time back. Continue to pray for God’s wisdom in my life and the life of your staff. We appreciate the prayers during this time.

So, this Sunday we will be having two worship services one at 9:30am and 11:15am. For the 9:30 am service we are asking the following Sunday School classes to attend:

  • David Caraway’s Class – David Caraway
  • Boots Davis Class – J.C. Campbell
  • Caraway Class – Lowry/Cockrell
  • Joy Class – Lawanda Lawler
  • Mixed Blessings – Camilla Veazey
  • Alpha and Omega – Sonny Tolar

Then at 11:15am we are asking these Sunday School Classes to attend:

  • Adult Co-ed 30’s-40’s – Chris Cooper’s
  • Young Married – K.O. and Lisa O’Neal
  • Singles
  • Ladies – Laurie Miles
  • Children
  • Youth

For now, we will not have a nursery, preschool, or children’s worship.

If you are not a part of one these Sunday School Classes, please feel free to chose either one of these services to join us in worship.

If you would like to wear a mask, please feel free to do so.  Currently we do not have any masks available.

When you arrive, the front door will be used as the entrance/exit point. As you make your way to the church building, please remember to be mindful of 6ft social distancing. This will limit physical contact, (i.e. hugs, handshakes, fist bumps, and elbow touches). Once inside the sanctuary will look and function totally different than it has in the past. To maintain social distancing every other row will be closed off.  Also, as you and your family find your seats please allow 4 chairs between you and the family/person on either side of you.

We will not have an offering where the plates will be passed from person to person. There will be designated drop-off points for your tithes and offerings.

The building will be cleaned and sanitized before the 9:30 service. Once the 9:30 service has concluded please exit the building as quickly as possible. This will give us plenty of time to clean and sanitize for the next service.

If you are arriving for the second service please remain in your vehicle until the first group has time to get to their cars and leave the campus. The front doors of the church will remain closed until the cleaning process is complete.

Finally, if you are not feeling well, or you are sick please remain at home. If you are not comfortable getting in a crowd yet that is completely understandable, you can still watch the service on Facebook or YouTube.

These are unusual times that we are facing and some unusual things we are having to do. If we follow these protocols it will help keep us safe and healthy. In advance, thank you for understanding and following them.

I look forward to seeing you Sunday,

Bro Mike

Covid – 19 Update from Bro. Mike / March 26, 2020

Covid – 19 Update from Bro. Mike

March 26, 2020

What a week it has been. We have seen the number of COVID-19 cases increase in the state at a fast pace. Please continue to pray for those people who have the virus and their families who have been separated from them. If you have someone who is in the medical field right now, you know the tremendous amount of pressure they are under. Pray that God will give them the strength they need to carry on with their jobs, taking care of the patients, as well as the emotional stress at this time. Also, remember protocol for this time:

  1. Social distance yourself from others. I know this is tough, but it is only for a short time.
  2. Wash your hands, at least twenty seconds.
  3. Avoid shaking hands with others, rather use a fist bump or an elbow touch.
  4. Regularly use hand sanitizer.
  5. Please stay home as much as you can.

If we do these simple things, then I know that we can overcome this situation quickly.

For the present time we are still postponing our services on Sunday and Wednesday. We will be on our social media outlets on Sunday morning, (Facebook, YouTube). The service will air at 10.45 am CST Sunday morning. I hope you can join us for a time of worship as we celebrate the Living God and what He has done in our lives.  This Sunday is our Annie Armstrong Offering ingathering. Our goal is $7,500. There is a special area on our online giving app that you will be able to give your regular offering and Annie Armstrong Offering.

During this time remember what Gods Word tells us, “Psalm 18:2 “The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer.” Praise the Lord that He is my rock, fortress, and deliverer. Hope you and your family have a great remainder of the week.

Bro. Mike

Grandview Baptist Church

Coronavirus/Service Reminder

Wednesday, March 18, 2020

Just a quick reminder that we will not have our regular Wednesday Night service tonight.  During the normal time that we would be praying I would like to ask you to pray for some special things:

  • Pray for the Coronavirus outbreak and those who have contracted the virus.
  • Pray for our health care workers, doctors, nurses and technicians who are on the frontline of this issue. Also, remember police officers and fire fighters who are protecting us during this time.
  • Pray for our local, state, and national leaders who are making decisions during this time.
  • Pray for our services as we navigate uncharted waters.
  • Pray God move through those services.
  • Please pray for your Pastor, Music Minister, Youth Pastor, and the ladies in the office as we make decisions about events and services.

Thank you for praying for all these things this evening.

Bro. Mike
