First Responders Breakfast

This week, as a nation, we stop and reflect on the events of September 11, 2001.  We all remember the images, sounds and stories of  that day and the days that followed.  That day changed America. It changed all of us.  One thing we were shown was that there are men and women who will run into the danger to protect those who are running from it.  On that day 414 first responders did what they did everyday.  They went when called, but on this day those 414 did not return home.  414 first responders gave their lives running into the danger to save the lives of others.  Since September 11 thousands have died from health complications stemming from their work at Ground Zero.  These are staggering numbers.  They should make us pause and be thankful.  The truth is,  in our community we are blessed to have men and women who serve as first responders ready and willing to run into the danger.  We pray they are never call on to respond to a tragedy like 9/11 but I am convinced that if called they would without hesitation.
It is just a small token to show our appreciation but we would like to invite all first responders and their families to a free breakfast in their honor.   Details in the image above.

Community Mission Opportunities

Grandview Baptist is excited about two Community Mission Opportunities in the next couple of weeks. We hope you and your family will make plans to join us. It is important that we take the love of Jesus out of the walls of the church building and into our community. Grandview understands that this is one of the main purposes for the church. Together we can make much of Jesus.

Hamburgers at The Harbor

Friday, September 7 at 6:00 pm

We always look forward to the chance to serve with our friends at The Harbor Church in downtown Dothan. The Harbor has a great ministry serving, loving on and reaching many in our community. They often help those with a good meal, clothes, shelter and other needs that may need to be met. On Friday September 7 Grandview will be at The Harbor cooking hamburgers and hot-dogs. These will be free of charge to all those who stop by. This will be gong on in conjunction with Foster Fest, which sees thousands fill the streets of downtown Dothan. The purpose of us doing this is two fold; one, many of those who attend The Harbor and The Harbor has ministered to, will stop by. This way we provide a fun atmosphere to get a good meal and see the love of Jesus on display.  The second purpose is, it will help to expose the ministry of The Harbor Church to many in our community that will be at Foster Fest. Many of them may be able to help or contribute to the ministry at The Harbor Church.
Make your plans to be at The Harbor Church on Friday, September 7 at 6:00 pm. We will have everything we need to cook and serve.  We just need you!  If you have any questions, please see Tommy Starling or call church office.

Saturday Serve

Breakfast for First Responders

Saturday, September 15 7:00 am-11:00 am

Grandview is very grateful for the men and women who serve us and our community as law enforcement, fire fighters, EMT, and other First Responders. In an effort to show that appreciation, and more importantly to show the love of Jesus, we will be cooking and serving them breakfast. We are going to set up at Central Fire Station, 600 Columbia Hwy, Dothan, AL 36301. We need your help!  Please consider joining us on Saturday September 15 to show our First Responders how much we care for them. We will have everything we need, but we can not do this without you. Also please help spread the word to all First Responders you know.
Come to the Central Fire Station on Saturday, September 15 at 7:00 am to serve those who serve us everyday.
