Who’s Your One – Day Three

Who’s Your One Prayer Guide – Day 3

Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take up my yoke and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
MATTHEW 11:28–30, CSB
Lord, this world is filled with burdens. I know _________________________________ experiences the reality of suffering in a broken, sinful world. People look to everything but Jesus to find hope and peace, and I know ___________________________ is no exception. He/she runs to things other than You to relieve the pain of life and achieve some sense of comfort. Father, I know You are the only one who can provide true rest. Cause __________________________ to recognize the futility of looking to anything in this world for the rest he/she seeks, and let this reality to drive him/her to You in repentance and saving faith.

Who’s Your One – Day 2

Who’s Your One 30 Days of Prayer Guide
Day 2

I will give them integrity of heart and put a new spirit within them; I will remove their heart of stone from their bodies and give them a heart of flesh, so that they will follow my statutes, keep my ordinances, and practice them. They will be my people, and I will be their God.  EZEKIEL 11:19–20, CSB

Father,  ______________________needs a new heart. You are the only One who can change a heart that is living in rebellion to You and submitting to the slavery of sin.  Apart from Your grace, _______________________ has no hope to know You and follow Your ways. I long for _____________________ to know You as his/her God and to experience the grace You so freely give. In Your rich love, give him/her a new heart, and put a new Spirit in place of his/her heart of stone.

What is Who’s Your One?

Who’s Your One is the brainchild of J.D. Greear Pastor of Summit Church and current President of the Southern Baptist Convention. The concept is very simple. Each church member prays that God will reveal to them one person they can share their faith with. Once God has given them that person, they take 30 days to pray for the person and for opportunities to share the Gospel. On April 7th each church member will receive a bookmark scripture guide and a prayer guide booklet, and for 30 days we will pray for our ONE. However, Who’s Your One is not a onetime event, it is a lifetime endeavor. Once we have shared with our ONE, get another ONE and share with them. I know God will bless our efforts. I look forward to seeing what God will do in the life of Grandview and our individual lives.

We have a page on our website dedicated to Who’s Your One.  Check in out for resources and encouragement.

First Responders Breakfast

This week, as a nation, we stop and reflect on the events of September 11, 2001.  We all remember the images, sounds and stories of  that day and the days that followed.  That day changed America. It changed all of us.  One thing we were shown was that there are men and women who will run into the danger to protect those who are running from it.  On that day 414 first responders did what they did everyday.  They went when called, but on this day those 414 did not return home.  414 first responders gave their lives running into the danger to save the lives of others.  Since September 11 thousands have died from health complications stemming from their work at Ground Zero.  These are staggering numbers.  They should make us pause and be thankful.  The truth is,  in our community we are blessed to have men and women who serve as first responders ready and willing to run into the danger.  We pray they are never call on to respond to a tragedy like 9/11 but I am convinced that if called they would without hesitation.

It is just a small token to show our appreciation but we would like to invite all first responders and their families to a free breakfast in their honor.   Details in the image above.
